Got to enjoy some time with Miss Maddy Beth. And her parents.

Missed our Daughter Amanda and her family, but Pennsylvania is a long ways away. She did put some good pictures up on Facebook. We did the phone call “Merry Christmas”.

We still have no snow. It’s been warm & rainy, then bitter cold and windy. The lake is still open. It freezes and then gets windy and the thin ice breaks up.

I’ve been making more jewelery then knitting. I have knit a few rows on a sock I started years ago. It’s a toe up sock. I sure hope to be able to finish it and start and finish the second one.

Today my friend JoAnne & I went to Starbucks to do a little crafting and have a hot drink. My Granddaughter, Heather, and Great-Granddaughter, Maddy Beth, came down from Adams & met us at Starbucks. I gave Heather Maddy Beth’s Christmas Stocking which I made for her. Continuing a tradition that my Husband’s Grandmother started.

Maddy Beth’s Sock is like the one’s my Mother-in-Law knit for our daughters. I generated the pattern with my Sock Wizard program I bought & loaded onto my computer years ago.

Also gave her the mittens that Maddy Beth’s Grandmother, JessaLu, knit for her.

I have been knitting since my last posting.

Let me think… Some works in progress… Stain-glass fan bag.  Another pair of Misty Morning Mitts.  Forest Canopy Shawl (my second one, done with Lorna’s Laces Sock yarn).

That’s about all I can think of for now. Hopefully it won’t take me another 11 months to get around to posting again!

I have not been doing a lot of knitting. Been working on a dishcloth. Trying to get the right size for a baby sock. I do have the  “Sock Wizard” program on my computer. It’s an older version that I’ve had for a while. All I have to do is put in the gauge, but that means I have to figure it out. I know it’s not hard to do but I have to find something to measure the stitches with and I’m just lazy. Easier to just knit.

Obviously I’m a Process Knitter not a Project Knitter. I love the act of knitting. I’m not a finisher, I’m a starter.

I made a crystal, pearl & seed bead bracelet for my friend JoAnne, it was a late Birthday Gift. And I made a seed bead necklace for my friend Natalie, also a late Birthday gift. I was pleased with the finished items and the recipients liked them too. No pictures, bad blogger.

I spent a couple of days this week helping my daughter Jessa Lu get ready for this Saturday. She will be vending in Clermont, NY on 5/14. She’s at the Clermont Historic Site, they are having a Market Day. Hopefully it will not be raining like the last time. I was in charge of ironing the fabric. She makes really nice box bags. My Great-Granddaughter is 4 months old now. It doesn’t seem possible. She is a beautiful baby. You will have to believe me, because I’m a bad Great-Grandmother, I don’t have pictures.

I will try to post more often. I hope someone is still out there reading. Have a good weekend, it looks like rain here in New England. But that should help a little with the pollen.

Here’s a picture with Bear

I have no idea how much snow we actually have, but I know it’s enough!

While outside taking pictures Bear came up to me, stood on his back feet and looked at me. I snapped this picture.

I have done a little knitting. Made a hat with Chunky bulky yarn. Probably should have used smaller needles, it’s really loose.

It doesn’t snug in like I would like it to. It took 1/2 the skein so I knit the other half up as a neck-warmer. Tom says it’s too bulky. I give up trying to make him a neck warmer. It’s either too big or too bulky.

Since my last post Tom & I have become Great-Grandparents! This picture was taken 2 days after her birth. this picture was taken a week later. She had her little hands under her chin. Too precious!

There was Christmas knitting. I made a total of 3 Watch hats. Here are 2 pictures, I didn’t think to get a picture of Roger’s hat before I gifted it!
I also knit a neck-warmer that I gifted to Marion. She’s our Head Pharmacist

I really want to make mittens. For me. From my own hand-spun. You have no idea how hard it is to not start them. But the hand-spun has been sitting around for a couple of years, so I must restrain myself. Yes I must. Even though my hands are cold, I must not start the mittens until this blanket is done. It’s much more important that babies are warm. My hands are going to have to wait. Besides I have my mitts and my fleece gloves that my friend Natalie gave me a few years ago.

Baby blankets come first. Must finish baby blanket.

I have to get back to the blanket. Knitting love into every stitch. Trying really hard not to think about the mittens I want to make.

Tom’s stomach was acting up. He’s had 26 radiation treatments and the side-effects have finally caught up with  him. Too bad it had to wait for Thanksgiving week, darn it. The Imodium helps a lot. Only 10 more treatments left. Yeah!

There has been knitting. Working on the baby blanket for the Great-Granddaughter due in January. The baby show was yesterday, Saturday. It was fun and Heather got a lot of nice things.

There’s been a dusting of snow. Thankfully it was a very light dusting.

I am planning on knitting this afternoon with my friend Natalie. Hoping Joanne will be able to meet up with us too.  I have a baby blanket to finish! Heather got a WIP gift yesterday and I better get going and finish it before the baby gets here!

I have been working on the baby blanket for my Great-Granddaughter who is due on the seen in January. The baby shower is next Saturday. All ready told my Granddaughter my gift will probably still be on the needles. She understands (once I explained to her what that meant) even though she is not a knitter.

I’m knitting Larkin from Knitpicks in a pretty pink Shine Sport. It’s a very comforting knit. Thank you JessaLu. I knew as soon as you saw the yarn I was using you would help your Mom out! It was awful, I agree.

I really do not like this time of year. The leaves are off the trees. It’s getting colder. It’s getting REALLY Dark for a REALLY long time. Yesterday I dug out my BlueMax light. So I’m starting my light therapy again. After all the trouble with my liver the last month or so I’m down to minimal medication. Because I’ve stopped the Zyrtec the vertigo has been fun. I just make-believe I’m “dropping acid” so something weird like that. Fortunately the spinning lasts for only a few seconds. But it is entertaining. Why do drugs if you have a good imagination?

So I have another Lacy baby had on the needles, cup cozies, a sock, and the baby blanket. The blanket will be getting most of my attention for now. Since I’m not sure how many non-knitters will be at the shower I should try to get as much done as possible.

Well I better get going, have to get ready for work.

The Wedding was beautiful! I can’t believe I didn’t cry. I would really have lost it if I had cried. The Bride was beautiful (and I’m not the only one that thought that)! The Groom was oh so very handsome. It was all so much fun. Even the Cranky 3 year old had fun! Poor little girl was so very tired.

I did finish the shawl that I had planned on wearing. My Granddaughter Heather wore it. I thought my dress was going to be red but instead it was silver. A gray shawl would have been too much gray. So I wore my Queen of Hearts shawl that I made a few years ago.

I’ve been knitting Cup Sleeves. A free Ravelry Download Pattern. They have to be felted but I figured that I would knit up a bunch before I do the felting.

I have 1 sock knit and have started the second.

I will be a Great-Grandmother in January! I will be starting a Baby Blanket for her soon (I hope). Waiting on the yarn. JessaLu did not like what I was knitting (and I don’t blame her, but it was the only pink yarn I had in my stash!) and she made me stop. She’s getting me some yarn to make a blanket for the baby, since she is the Grandmother, I guess I have to agree with her. It was not a good yarn to make a baby blanket.

My Easy Raglan Green Mountain Sweater is OFF THE NEEDLES!!! I have ends to weave in, but I can’t believe there are no more knitting needles attached to it. I probably would have finished it last year if I had not re-knit the sleeves in the round. Why I followed that pattern in the first place and knit them flat I have no idea.

Amanda and family were here for the Wedding. The house was full. She’s home now with way too much to do. She is one very busy Mom. I don’t know how she does it!

I drove a Camry for the summer while my truck waited for a new frame. Because the frame was cracked. Toyota paid for it. I love my 2000 Tundra. I was surprised how quickly I adjusted back to driving that big old truck. I can backup park the truck better than I could the car. Go figure.

I have been knitting on a sock. Made a few dishcloths. Knitting cup warmers, which I can not felt until there’s more water in our spring. We need rain this week. I’m almost finished with the shawl that I’m knitting for my Daughter’s wedding. Which I will not be wearing to the wedding because my dress is gray and the shawl is gray. I started the shawl thinking I would be buying a red dress. But I will have my Granddaughter wear the shawl. The Granddaughter who will be making me a Great-Grandmother in January 2011.

JessaLu and Roger are getting married October 10,2010. Yay! So everything right now is all about the wedding. I have to finish jewelry for the bridesmaids. I really don’t like to wirewrap gemstones.

Amanda & Michael and company will be arriving next Thursday. Amanda and the kids will be staying for 10 days. Mike will be going back to work so he will be leaving sooner.

Sorry I don’t have any pictures to share. Maybe after the wedding and everyone goes home. (That is if I have survived the whole experience.)
